I had such a lovely afternoon with my love, miss Annie. We decided to head over to the Big Horn Canyon just north of Lovell, Wyoming.
The Big Horn Canyon is a very unique and beautiful area close to Powell and the opportunity for photography is great. Annie and I have made multiple trips to stare down from the sheer cliffs to the water below. A “mini” Grand Canyon is the best way I can describe it.
We have been there multiple times in search of wild horses but with no success. The area is known for its wild horse population being the first national refuge for wild horses in the U.S. Today was our lucky day!
We found 3 separate groups totaling over 20 wild horses! The light was fantastic and watching such majestic animals was soothing. A few instances the horses would walk very close to us, seemingly not worried of our presence. Their battle scars and long hair showed a hard life, one filled with battles and forging through the elements.
All in all it was a fantastic day and another one for the books. Life is short, any opportunity to go out and relax and have fun is an opportunity worth taking.
